From time to time, continuing support staff positions become vacant or are created.  The purpose of this administrative procedure is to ensure that such vacancies are brought to the attention of current support staff, so as to express interest in the vacant position, prior to the position being advertised to the general public.
 
In order to promote the career development of support staff members, as positions become vacant or are newly created, notice of such positions will be circulated to support staff members in our Careers section under Internal Job Postings.




 

Public holidays are awarded in accordance with the Saskatchewan Labour Standards.  Non-teaching employees who work the school year shall receive the benefit of the public holidays within the ten-month school year.






All employees, including part-time employees, who complete one year of service with the Lloydminster School Division, are entitled to three weeks vacation with pay. 
 
10 or more years of service employees are entitled to four weeks vacation with pay.  
 
17 or more years of service employees are entitled to five weeks vacation with pay.   
 
Please note AP 434, which specifies the holiday entitlement date (June 30) and the subsequent anniversary date for holidays (July 1).
 
Non-teaching employees who work the school year have holiday pay included with their regular monthly pay.






- Based on ten per cent of regular hours worked, excluding overtime.
 
- Maximum entitlement per year shall not exceed 20 days.
 
- A year shall be from July 1st – June 30th.
 
- Sick leave entitlement is earned on sick pay.  (The basis of entitlement     being the regular hours normally worked).
 
The number of accumulated days shall not exceed 180 days.  The accumulation shall consist of the unused portion provided each year during uninterrupted service.

The School Division upon the written request of individual employees will provide a statement of accumulated sick credits.
 






(Manulife Pension Plan)

All qualified non-teaching employees on continuing contracts working 20 hours per week or more shall participate in the retirement plan effective the first of the month following 12 months continuous service.  The rate of employee contribution is six per cent of normal gross salary. 
 
Employee contributions are matched by the Board of Education up to six percent.

Employees injured in the performance of duty are compensated under the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Act and the policies of the Lloydminster School Division



 
 
Who's covered?

- Non-teaching employees working (or paid) a minimum of 15 hrs a week (Based on Monthly average)
- New employees covered the 1st of the month following 30 days
- Employment group benefits are a condition of employment
- Coverage is based on employment status for group benefits, medical  not required







The EAP is available to all employees with on-going (not casual or temporary) contracts regardless of hours worked.  Coverage is effective from date of hire. 

Individual, couple, and family counseling is available through Premura Counseling. 

The Division co-funds $55.00 per session and the employee covers the remaining $20.00 per session.  Five counseling sessions per calendar year are co-funded by the Division.

 




 
Service Awards are presented to employees after five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five  and thirty years of employment with the Lloydminster School Division.  Years of service are recognized as of Dec 1st.
 





Education/Professional Development

Financial assistance in the form of Bursaries (AP 405), is available for job
related courses which will be approved by the Director of Education.
