Fall is all around us with the change of colours and colder air. I love this time of year, routine is established and the fishing is awesome! Before I get too far into this post I want to mention that Orange Shirt Day is coming up on Monday, September 30. I look forward to seeing all our Lloyd Public schools taking part in this day that recognizes the children of residential schools.
Now let’s talk about Strengths. During the first week of October, our Grade 7 students will be taking the Gallup StrengthsExplorer assessment. The results of this assessment will show our students their top three talents and provide them with suggestions on how to use these talents to their benefit. Meanwhile, our Grade 10 students will be completing their CliftonStrengths assessment, which will allow them to discover their natural abilities, develop their talents into strengths, and use their results to live their best life.
Lloyd Public invests in Strengths because our organization believes in the value of people discovering and celebrating what makes them unique and powerful. Tools such as CliftonStrengths assist our students in building a positive self-image and helps the organization actualize our mission of "Ensuring Personal Excellence for All students."
I want to say thank you to Canadian Natural Resources Limited and the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation for their generous donation to our Strengths programming in LPSD. Their generous donation will provide Strengths resources to our students and for that Lloyd Public is extremely grateful!
In October I am thankful! Thankful for a supportive community, a progressive and successful school division and a supportive family. I hope everyone has a great month ahead, don’t eat too much Turkey and watch out for that Halloween candy!
Go Barons Go!!
