Administrative Procedure 319
Changeroom Access
Background
Lloydminster Public School Division is dedicated to creating safe, inclusive school environments where every student feels valued, protected, and respected. We strive to create a nurturing environment where all individuals are welcomed and given equal opportunities to learn and thrive. Lloydminster Public School Division’s foundational statements speak to “cultivating a culture of respect where every student and staff member is valued, heard and treated with dignity, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.”
Procedures
- All students have a right to accessible and safe washroom and changeroom facilities. Lloydminster Public School Division will have a single stall washroom for use by any student or staff member who desires increased privacy.
- Safe accommodations may include, but are not limited to:
- Use of a private area within the public area;
- Having a separate changing schedule in the private area (either utilizing the change room before or after the other students);
- Using a nearby private area (e.g., a nearby washroom);
- In situations where multiple options exist, school administration will work with the student and parent/guardian (if the student is under the age of 16) to create a changeroom plan.
- When traveling to schools or facilities outside the school division, supervising staff will ensure students have access to an alternate private changeroom if needed.
