Odyssey Community Childcare Society

 

Hours dependent on school schedule (5-15 hrs/week); Only runs on school days

Before School Care: Begins at 7am

Out of School Care: Runs 3:15pm-6pm

 

Out of School Care is a warm, nurturing and inclusive program that is essential to our community.  It is a safe, secure place where we strive to meet the needs of children, individually and as a whole.  The environment allows children to make choices and develop relationships with peers and adults.

The Program is operated by the Odyssey Community Childcare Society.  The Director, Board and Staff will ensure that the program works together with the families to meet the needs of all involved. The Out of School Care Program is staffed with qualified child care professionals and each program follows the child ratios for licensing regulations.

The program will observe and acknowledge the individuality and uniqueness by addressing their individual needs, interests, and provide them with opportunities to achieve their full potential and give them the tools to meet the challenges in their daily journeys.  Children’s Developmental needs will be met with physical activity, positive social interaction, structure and clear limits, opportunities to develop and use their talents, skills and share their personal interests.  Interaction and communication with children will be positive, respectful and support the children’s social-emotional and intellectual development.

The successful applicants will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Keeping track of children's time sheets
  • Tracking children's schedules
  • Understand Emergency Procedures/Licensing Expectations
  • Appropriate Supervision
  • Positive Guidance in a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable

The successful candidates will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal record check (vulnerable sector) as a condition of employment.   The wage for this position is $25.00 per hour.
